Miss Lisa (Principle) ISTD and ITDA

Lisa Meanwell, principle of Elite Academy of Dance has been dancing for 28 years and trained in Ballet, Tap, Modern Theatre, Jazz and more recently Acro, Street dance and Cheerleading.

Lisa participated in a variety of different performances and productions whilst growing up, as well as examinations with the ISTD and ITDA.

Lisa became a dance teaching assistant age 14-17 whilst furthering her studies and knowledge at college in which she worked towards her National Diploma in Dance successfully passing with high marks gaining a distinction.

Lisa’s first professional job dancing was age 17 performing in small production shows at holiday parks and theme parks, where she spent her first summer season with her first cast. She then went on to audition in London and was offered a place on Celebrity Cruise Liners touring the world performing in large scale production shows for four years with selected dancers from all over the world.

Lisa’s dance took her to many parts of the world such as: America – including New York, Hawaii, Alaska, all of Europe (Spain, Italy, France) Bermuda, the Carribean etc. She worked for the ‘Gary Music Company’ where she trained in Nashville USA and performed in large scale production shows such as Broadway’s Wicked, Mamma Mia, Les Miserables, Hairspray, The Lion King, Chicago, The Producers, Thoroughly Modern Millie, The Wizard of Oz and many more. Lisa was also offered a job at Disneyland Resort Paris as a parade dancer.

After several years away from home, Lisa decided that she wanted to follow her dream and open her own dance school. She came back to the UK and began her dance teacher training at various dance schools in Nottingham, Leicester and Derby with top teachers and examiners to help gain her qualifications.

Lisa began working and teaching part time in dance schools, whilst also working for East Lindsey District Council teaching dance in primary and secondary schools all around Lincolnshire for 3 years before opening her own school in February 2011.

Lisa has achieved so much, and is very passionate about her school. She hopes to pass on her knowledge and passion for dance to all her students, give them a sence of achievement and pride in what they do and most importantly ensure they get maximum enjoyment out of each lesson.

Lisa took on Hannah White to become a dance teacher within Elite Academy during the summer of 2011 as the school expanded. She is also a very dedicated passionate teacher who has danced for many years. Lisa feels she is a huge asset to the school and looks forward to working with her for many more years to come.

Miss Hannah started dancing at the young age of 3 completing a number of exams in Ballet, Tap, Modern, gymnastics and Theatre Craft with the IDTA. Hannah has also performed in a number of summer seasons at the Embassy centre in Skegness and a variety of Christmas productions, she was also chosen to perform at Butlins in the pantomime.

Hannah became a teaching assistant at a dance school in Grimsby age 17 to help gain experience and knowledge in her chosen genre.

She began her teacher training age 18 and with a lot of hard work and dedication passed her pre associate part one in Ballet followed by her pre associate two aged 20. Since then Hannah has obtained an Anatomy & Physiology Diploma with the the IDTA and an Associates Degree with the IDTA Ballet faculty.

Whilst completing her training She had the opportunity to teach a number of students of all ages in schools across Lincolnshire and In July 2011 joined Elite Academy of Dance as Head of Ballet.



Miss Michelle (Trainee Teacher)

Michelle Scott

Teacher Trainee Michelle Scott has been dancing since the age of 2 and has taken examinations with ISTD and IDTA in Ballet, Tap, street, Freestyle, Latin and Ballroom, Modern Theatre, Cheerleading and Acro. In 2010 Michelle went to the Grimsby Institute to do her National Diploma in performing Arts Dance where she studied lots of different styles of dance and theatre work, whilst at the Grimsby institute Michelle took part in many performances including Rock Challenge at Grimsby Auditorium where they were placed 3rd in the UK.  Michelle was also part of a group of students invited to sing in front of special guests at an opening of the new university centre.

In the summer of 2011 Michelle made her West End Debut at her majesty’s theatre, whilst taking part in the Summer schools ‘West End Stage’ she performed in Fame, Evita, Sister Act, Chess and Little Shop of Horrors. During her time with West End Stage she worked with west end professionals and trained in dance, singing, drama, stage combat and puppetry.

In 2012 she made her debut west end album ‘WESing’ which hit number 3 in the iTunes album chart.  Michelle has also had the opportunity to film a couple of music videos and did a number of flash mobs in London.

During her time with Elite Michelle has performed in the annual dance shows, in groups, solos, duets and trios and received the 2011 modern award, 2014/15 ballet award and in 2012 was the Elite Dancer of the Year. Michelle also danced in the Skegness So Festivals, Mablethorpe illuminations 2011, party in the pews, Alford rocks and danced as part of the cheer team for the Louth Olympic celebrations.  Michelle has had the chance to attend 3 master class workshops with Diversity.  She was part of the Games Time Olympic celebration on Skegness sea front where performed in front of thousands of people. Michelle also recently competed in the south Lincolnshire dance festival where she was entered into the song and dance category and came 2nd.
In 2010 Michelle was cast in her first show at Louth playgoers Riverhead theatre, since then she has done many musicals and pantomimes including Cinderella, Jack and the beanstalk, Calamity Jane, Babes in the wood, 42nd street, Me and my Girl, The king and I, Fame, Aladdin and Musical memories. She was also part of the choreography team for the King and I.
Michelle is very passionate about performing and would like to pass on her knowledge to young hopeful dancers.
